Scott entered healthcare about 35 years ago. He worked as a NAC for four years and received his administrator’s license just after college. He then worked for a California company for about 13 years and has been with Washington Care Center for the past eight years.back to top

Helen Sikov Administrator
Helen Sikov has been an administrator in central and south Seattle since 1984. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with and serve a diverse community and be supported by competent management and non-profit ownership teams.” Helen obtained her Masters degree in social work from the University of Washington in 1981 and continues to be a practicum instructor for the School of Social Work. She also works with established and grassroots community efforts to address social justice issues related to racism, ageism and health disparities. “I love to travel with my family, dance, hike, garden, as well as attend local art and music programs.”back to top

Karen Aguilar Social Services Director
As the social services director, Karen enjoys the people she works with each day. She’s been at Washington Care Center for six years and likes to watch sports, listen to music and do crossword puzzles. She’s a graduate of Washington State University.back to top

Lena Spohn“Lena Spohn Director of Nursing
Lena started her nursing career in the Philippines.  She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Lena has experience working as an Operating Room nurse, and in the Intensive Care Unit for newborns.  She moved to Seattle and has worked in the Long Term Care Industry for over 20 years as a floor nurse, Residential Care Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing Services.  Lena spends her leisure time with family and friends and their three cats named Wheato, Buttons and Frampton.  Lena feels blessed to be able to have fun and work with the wonderful staff of Washington Care Center.back to top

Flavia LagrangeFlavia Lagrange Director of Admissions
Flavia joined the Washington Care Center team in October of 2010. A native of the Seattle area, Flavia has worked in the long-term care industry for about 20 years. She has a passion for working with the aging population, and enjoys all the wisdom they have to offer. Flavia received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration from Eastern Washington University and her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Seattle University. Flavia also has her Nursing Home Administrators License. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys traveling, yoga, soccer and triathlons.back to top

Jan Clare Ramirez Rehab Manager
Jan Clare Ramirez has been an Occupational Therapist for 10 years. Her experience includes working with children with special needs, and working in skilled nursing facilities for the geriatric population. As a foreign trained therapist, she has found a great home in Washington Care Center. She enjoys leading her staff in providing quality rehabilitation services for the residents at Washington Care Center. In her spare time, she spends time with her family, enjoying the northwest mountains and beaches.back to top

Kathleen Mulron Business Office Manager
Kathleen has spent 22 years in the healthcare industry, and says putting a smile on the residents’ faces makes her day. She enjoys spending time with her family at sports events and various outings. She also plays racquetball and tennis and likes gardening.back to top

Gary Engelmann Controller
Gary Engleman started his health care career as a staff accountant in 1988. After gaining experience in both for-profit and non-profit health care organizations, he joined Washington Care Center in 2000. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with his daughter.back to top

Lora Ray Therapeutic Recreation Director
Lora has been at Washington Care Center since early 2006. She has a background in occupational therapy and appreciates the opportunity to bring meaningful, enjoyable and therapeutic activities to the residents. Lora has three children in college and enjoys backpacking, swimming, sailing and singing in her barbershop quartet.back to top

Sharon Nienow has been at Washington Care Center since 1985 and in healthcare for over 30 years. Providing for the residents and working in a team environment is what keeps her here for so long. In her free time she enjoys gardening and writing.back to top

Ruben has worked for over ten years providing environmental and maintenance services in the healthcare field. Bill HodginsBill Hodgins Dietary Service Manager
Bill has worked in the culinary field for 30 years and in healthcare for 15 years. Bill’s mother was a Certified Nursing Assistant in his youth. Bill was fond of visiting the aging population at the facility his mother worked at, and he began working as a dishwasher. He soon fell in love with the senior population. Bill has had a life long passion for good food and great stories. He says you get both of those in healthcare. Bill has lived in many of the lower 48 states. He is married with 4 kids and enjoys camping, fishing and playing video games with his kids.back to top
